ROCKLAND – Atlantic Challenge Foundation says it is accepting participants in an after-school boat building program.

Offered to all local children, ages 10 to 14, the program is for those who want to learn more about boats, tools and construction.

The class meets twice each week, on Mondays and Wednesdays, from 2:30 to 5 p.m.

Children work with local residents and an instructor on projects ranging from wooden boat models to full-sized sailing dinghies. With small class sizes, each participant can receive plenty of personal attention. No experience is necessary – just the ability to concentrate and have a good time.

A $10 fee is charged for each six-week session. To find out more, call the Atlantic Challenge Foundation, 594-1800. The Atlantic Challenge Foundation is a nonprofit educational organization at 643 Main St. in Rockland.
