BANGOR – Bangor International Airport officials have announced that in December USAirways Express will replace its 19-seat aircraft on the Bangor to Boston route with 34-seat aircraft.

USAirways Express currently flies 19- and 37-seat turboprop equipment to and from Bangor.

Starting Dec. 5, all USAirways Express service to Boston from Bangor will be flown on 34-seat Saab regional airliners.

The 19-seat Beechcraft regional airliners will no longer be flown in the Bangor market.

The carrier initially planned to retain the 19-seat aircraft on the Boston route until May of 2001.

Bob W. Ziegelaar, director of BIA, said: “We are very pleased with the continued introduction of larger airplanes by USAirways Express. USAirways provides superb service to and from our market with excellent onward connections. We expect that these popular flights will continue to grow with the introduction of larger aircraft on the Bangor to Boston route.”
