CAMDEN – Police arrested a man Sunday morning after he allegedly assaulted his wife.

Chief Phil Roberts said Officer Michael Geary had to physically and chemically subdue Amos Robbins, 20, of Mountain Street at about 11:25 a.m. after a neighbor summoned police to the Robbins home.

Robbins was charged with domestic assault, refusing to submit to arrest, and obstructing the report of a crime for tearing a telephone line out of the wall to prevent his wife from calling police.

The woman was not seriously injured, Roberts said.

Robbins damaged the inside of the house, the chief said.

Geary struggled with the man and sprayed Cap-Stun on him to subdue him.

Robbins was on probation when he was arrested, the chief said.
