THOMASTON – The zoning appeals board will review permits for two Beechwood Street gravel pits, following an order by a Knox County Superior Court justice.

The permits given to George C. Hall & Sons and Dwight L. Overlock for hauling materials from off-site were approved by the Thomaston Planning Board and the zoning board, but Justice Francis Marsano ruled in September that the matter had not been fully considered by the zoning board.

So the issue was sent back to the board. The court-style hearing begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at Watts Hall.

Both businesses had been bringing in materials to the gravel pits for processing from other locations, without permits.
