AUGUSTA – The State Planning Office reported Monday that the statewide average price of home-heating oil jumped 4 cents this week.
After holding steady at $1.50 for the past two weeks, the average price jumped to $1.54 this week. That is 50 cents more than one year ago.
Prices ranged from a low of $1.35 a gallon in western sections of Maine to as much as $1.64 for some customers in central parts of the state.
Kerosene prices also jumped to $1.78 a gallon after holding steady at $1.74 for the preceding four weeks
