PATTEN – Katahdin Trust Co. doubled the number of its locations from seven to 14 on Monday.

Earlier this year, Katahdin bought eight Peoples Heritage Bank branch offices in Mars Hill, Easton, Fort Fairfield, Limestone, Washburn, Ashland, Van Buren and Eagle Lake. Peoples Heritage is a subsidiary of Banknorth.

The branch offices opened under the Katahdin Trust name on Monday.

Because its existing Mars Hill branch office was consolidated, Katahdin now has 14 locations.

Total bank assets increase from $150 million to about $245 million.
