HOULTON – Police have arrested two more people in connection with a string of car burglaries earlier this month.
Allen DuPuis, 18, of Houlton was arrested last weekend. He has been charged with two counts of burglary of a motor vehicle, according to Houlton police Chief Darrell Malone.
Earlier last week, a 16-year-old Houlton girl also was arrested in connection with the burglaries. She has been charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property, Malone said.
Two weeks ago, Robert T.K. Nash of Weatherford, Texas, was charged with burglary of a motor vehicle and possession of stolen property in connection with what police now say were at least 17 motor vehicle burglaries that occurred the night of Nov. 6.
All of the targeted vehicles were unlocked.
Police have yet to make any arrests in connection with a fire set early on the morning of Nov. 7 in the lumber pile at Horten Building Supplies on Military Street.
Police previously said they suspected the fire might have been connected with the motor vehicle burglaries. The fire was discovered quickly and extinguished with little damage done.
