AUGUSTA – Central Maine Power Co., the American Cancer Society and eight area radio stations are teaming up to spread holiday cheer while also raising money to fund services for Maine cancer patients and their families.

CMP’s third annual Holiday Lighting Contest offers prizes of CMP credit to winners in the commercial and residential categories. Three commercial and nine residential winners who enter with a photo of their holiday lighting displays will be chosen in a random drawing to win $100. A panel of radio celebrity judges will select winners of a $500 and $200 Holiday Spirit award in each category for the most festive displays for the holidays.

For each entry, CMP will make a donation to the American Cancer Society’s Maine-based programs.

To enter, each business or home must submit an entry form with a photo of its outdoor holiday lighting display. Photos taken at dusk are often the most effective.

Entry forms are available in CMP’s November bill inserts; by calling 1-800-565-0121 Ext. 2116; or by visiting CMP’s Web site at www.cmpco.com. Entries must be received at CMP’s corporate office in Augusta by Dec. 20.
