PITTSFIELD – Only one of several accidents reported to police on a snowy morning Tuesday involved injury.

A two-car crash at 9 a.m. on Main Street sent two people to Sebasticook Valley Hospital for treatment.

According to Pittsfield police Officer Chadwick Curtis, a 1994 Chevrolet sedan, driven by Diane S. Dunham, 52, of St. Albans was stopped at the traffic light heading north at the intersection of Main and Route 69.

Everett Holbrook, 24, of Skowhegan, who was driving a 1993 Dodge Daytona, came up behind Dunham and failed to stop, crashing into the back of her car.

Dunham’s vehicle was propelled through the intersection but there was no other traffic at the time.

Holbrook told Curtis that his brakes failed.

Dunham and a passenger in Holbrook’s car, David Johnson, age and address unknown, were taken by Sebasticook Valley Hospital ambulance to that hospital for treatment of neck and back pain. Both were released.

Curtis said no charges were filed in the accident.
