Even though the hand count of Florida votes is being allowed, the result will be a virtual dead heat. Even a differerence of a thousand votes is less than one tenth of one percent and statistically insignificant. Any attempt to have a state wide or even local “reelection,” violates the Federal Constitution’s” requirement that all votes to be cast on the same day. Even apart from this, there would be no way to duplicate the conditions on Election Day.

So what to do? I say we take a page from the wisdom of King Solomon. Call for a Florida State amendment to its election laws that would allow proportional appointment of Electors. Then give each candidates, “half the baby,” with the odd electoral vote to go to whomever finally winds up with a slight edge.
