ORONO – The University of Maine Alumni Association has unveiled a new home on the Web, at www.mainealumni.com, to give UM alumni and supporters an easy way to stay in touch with the university, while conducting daily online activities.

The university worked with MyPersonal.com Inc., to create its “start page.” It combines university information and online features such as national and international news with a way to stay in touch with university departments and alumni, plus a free lifetime e-mail service.

“The start page gives alumni an easy way to stay connected with the university, plus take advantage of all the Web has to offer,” said Jeff Mills, alumni director.

“Establishing and sustaining relationships proves to have a positive direct financial impact on the school,” said Mills. “The university strives to connect with graduates as they leave the school and to maintain the connection through their lives as alumni,” he said.
