CAMDEN – Firefighters made short work of extinguishing a small blaze at the Lotus restaurant on US. Route 1 on Friday.

The department was called at 12:33 p.m. and found “a lot of smoke,” a dispatcher reported. The fire was confined to a large oven.

The restaurant will be closed until it can be inspected to be sure it is safe. The dispatcher said there was no real damage in the restaurant. “Just the duck,” he said, which went up in flames in the oven.

Firefighters were on the scene for about an hour.
