FAIRFIELD – Two days after a Fairfield man’s home burned, someone stole power tools from his garage, police said.

Ralph Webber reported a pair of air nailers and a tabletop drill press missing from his Martin Stream Road garage at 12:40 p.m. Monday.

Fairfield police Deputy Chief Darren Hooper said someone appears to have forced open a door and taken the tools, which were worth about $850, he said.

Webber’s rented mobile home at 240 Martin Stream Road was destroyed by fire Friday night. Fire officials at the time said the fire appeared to have stemmed from a wood stove.
