ORONO – Children’s books from toddlers to teens are again being collected by the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Maine. The public is invited to join in this annual tradition by donating new or used books in very good condition.

The books will be distributed by the Orono-Old Town Kiwanis Club at the service organization’s annual holiday party for area children.

The party is scheduled for Dec. 9.

Books, gift-wrapped if possible, and marked for a particular age level can be brought to the office of college Dean Robert A. Cobb, 151 Shibles Hall, through noon on Friday, Dec. 8.

The college’s annual book collection has made thousands of books available to area children for more than 20 years.
