This letter is regarding the story (BDN, Nov. 27) of the 6-year-old Hermon girl who was almost abducted by a man in a brown truck. I am an 18-year-old single mother of a 2-year-old. I work and go to school. The thought of anyone trying to kidnap a child makes me sick to my stomach. This example proves no matter where you are, you still have to be more questioning of some people.

Sure, in these small towns we can sigh and say everything’s all right. What happens to the next child who has to witness these kinds of crimes? Let’s pull our small towns together and really make Maine the way life should be.
