UNION – Union Historical Society will meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the Robbins House on Union Common.

Julia Hunter, co-author of “‘Fly Rod’ Crosby, the Woman who Marketed Maine,” will give a slide presentation on the career of Cornelia Thurza, the subject of the book.

Hunter is the registrar and curator for the John Martin Journal Publication Project and the Fly Rod Crosby Publication Project at the Maine State Museum in Augusta.

Members of the public are invited to attend. Julia Hunter will sign copies of her soft-cover book, co-published by the Maine State Museum and Tilbury House Publishers, which will be on sale for $25 plus tax.

After the meeting, refreshments will be served in the parlor. The Union Historical Society will recess for the winter and meet next on March 7, 2001.
