BANGOR – Rabbi William Leffler will speak about his new book, “Jews and Mormons: Two Houses of Israel,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at Congregation Beth El, 183 French St.
Rabbi Leffler’s book, which he co-authored with his Dartmouth roommate, came about when the men realized they knew very little about the religion of the other. If that could happen with good friends, then the men thought there might be other people in similar situations.
The purpose of the book is to enhance dialogue between the two religions.
Rabbi Leffler was ordained at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, and has served congregations in Concord, N.H., and in Lexington, Ky. He now resides in Kennebunkport.
