ROCKLAND – A six-week course in practical, everyday Spanish designed for those planning a trip to a Spanish-speaking country will begin Dec. 7 at Penobscot School.

The course will focus on greetings, polite expressions, asking directions, ordering in a restaurant, shopping, changing money, weather and time.

It is ideal for those who have acquired basic pronunciation rules and the most basic vocabulary, and want to know more.

The course is open to near-beginner through intermediate Spanish students. The six-week course is as follows:, 5:15-6:45 p.m. Thursdays, Dec. 7 to Jan. 25. The fee is $65.
