LEWISTON – Producer Jeff Dobbs of Bar Harbor has again captured the rich and rugged beauty of Maine from the air in “Air Maine,” a new program premiering on Maine PBS at 8 p.m. Dec. 5 and 7. New footage covers the St. John Valley to the very southern points of Maine.

The aerial shots feature several areas of Maine not included in previous films by Dobbs. Highlights include spectacular fall foliage; Op Sail 2000, the “Tall Ships” event that took place this summer off Maine’s coast; Walker Point in Kennebunk, home of former president George Bush (Secret Service clearance was obtained by Dobbs to fly over and film this area).

Other special coverage includes footage along Route 1 and a journey by air along the length of the Penobscot, Kennebec and Saco rivers. Jack Perkins, a former NBC newsman and resident of Bar Island, Maine, narrates. “Air Maine” is a follow-up program to the popular “High on Maine,” the Dobbs film that aired last year on Maine PBS.
