BANGOR – Penquis CAP’s Home Energy Assistance Program is accepting applications for fuel assistance to help income-eligible households meet the winter heating costs.

An estimated 8,000 households in Penobscot and Piscataquis counties are eligible for assistance. An increase in the income eligibility guidelines during the past two years enables more people than ever to qualify for the program.

Applications will be accepted until April 30, 2001. For more information, call your local Penquis CAP office: in Bangor, 973-3630; Lincoln, 794-3093; Dover-Foxcroft, 564-7116; and Millinocket, 723-4994.
