COLLEGE Leslie Weed

Leslie Weed, of Husson College, has been named the Hammond Lumber player of the week. Weed had 41 points in a conference win over UM-Machias and added 18 in a win over Rochester Institute.

Liz Boone

Liz Boone of Husson College has been selected as the Hammond Lumber rookie of the week. She averaged 14 points per game in a 2-1 week.

Lora Trenkle

Lora Trenkle, a freshman at Bowdoin College, has been named the New England Small Athletic Conference player of the week. Trenkle, a guard, averaged 19.5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and 1.5 steals in two games for Bowdoin. For the week she made 13 of 22 field goal attempts including 7-of-10 from 3-point range. In addition, Trenkle was named the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association rookie of the week.

Zeb Davis

Zeb Davis, a senior at Colby College, has been selected the New England Small Athletic Conference player of the week. Davis, a forward, averaged 22.5 points per game and was named the most valuable player of the Colby Invitational. He hit 11 3-pointers in two games, including two 3-pointers in overtime in the title game win over Hamilton.

Sarah Walsh

Sarah Walsh, a sophomore center at Colby College, has been named the Maine Women’s Basketball Association player of the week. Walsh averaged 16.2 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.2 steals and is shooting 47 percent from the floor.

Kim McLaughlin

Kim McLaughlin of Bates College has been selected as a Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association player of the week. McLaughlin, a forward, leads the state in scoring with a 17.3 point per game average. She also averaged 8.3 rebounds and is shooting 49 percent from the floor.

C.J. Vose

C.J. Vose of St. Joseph’s College has been named the Webber Energy player of the week. Vose, a sophomore forward, averaged 25.7 points and 9.7 rebounds per game in a 3-0 week.

Lercy Gore

Lercy Gore a freshman at St. Joseph’s has been named the Webber Energy rookie of the week. Gore averaged 14 points and 4.3 rebounds per game in a 3-0 week.
