Boston Red Sox All-Star Nomar Garciaparra will honor Maine area kids for their hard work this past summer when he presents $46,500 to the representatives of 10 youth groups that completed community service projects as part of the Fleet All-Stars Program.
Garciaparra will present a first-place $15,000 check to the Good Will-Hinkley Homes for Boys and Girls for their six Youth Betterment Projects. He will also present a $7,500 second-place check to the Coastal Community Action Program for their transformation of an abandoned piece of property into a community park and $3,000 prizes to eight third-place winners.
