Teen passenger injured in two-vehicle collision

ROCKLAND – A 13-year-old boy was injured Tuesday in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Broadway and Pleasant Street, when another driver, whose license was under suspension, struck his mother’s car.

Jesse Eustis, a passenger in his mother’s car, was taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center with a cut forehead, Deputy Police Chief Wallace Tower said Tuesday. Eustis was treated then released, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

His mother, Carol Eustis, 38, of Rockland was driving south on Broadway in a 1988 Ford. When she approached the intersection of Pleasant Street, the car she was driving was struck by a 1993 Jeep Wrangler driven by Angela Escorsio.

Escorsio, 42, of Tenants Harbor was charged with operating after suspension and with failure to provide evidence of insurance. Escorsio was exiting Pleasant Street in the Jeep, heading onto Broadway when her vehicle hit Eustis’ car, Tower said.

The Ford sustained $5,000 in damage, while the Jeep had $1,500 in damage from the 7:28 a.m. accident, which was investigated by Officer Russell Thompson.
