ARLINGTON, Va. – Gannett Co. has promoted Craig Dubow to president of its broadcasting division.

He will replace Cecil Walker, who will become chairman and continue as chief executive officer of Gannett Broadcasting, Gannett announced Tuesday.

Dubow, who had been the executive vice president of Gannett Television, has been with the Arlington-based company since he joined KUSA in Denver in 1981.

Gannett, which publishes USA Today and 98 other daily newspapers, also owns 22 television stations that reach 17.5 percent of the nation’s TV homes.

Stations include WUSA in Washington, WXIA in Atlanta, KPNX in Phoenix, KARE in Minneapolis and two stations in Maine, WCSH in Portland and WLBZ in Bangor.
