SCARBOROUGH – The chief operating officer of Hannaford Bros. Co. has a new title: president.

Ronald Hodge was named president on Thursday of the 117-year-old company that operates 107 supermarkets across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York and Massachusetts.

In June 1990, he became executive vice president and chief operating officer. During his tenure with the company, he helped manage the company’s entry into the New York market in the early 1990s.
