Dec. 2 will be remembered by me – it was our 56th anniversary and when I read our Bangor Daily News, I was very pleased to read David Walsh’s article on Chris Lawlor.

As a native of Southwest Harbor, I well remember Chris and his way with horses – also his ice pond, which served as a recreational skating area for our small town. We need more articles of this type in the News.

Last but not least, I was privileged to serve as a Rotarian in the Festival of Lights parade in Bangor. I was indeed touched to see how many hundreds of people turned out for the parade and the smiling faces of the happy young families – I’m proud to be a Rotarian and to have had a part in this program.
