Slipping into a state of dudgeon (thank you, Tom Weber) applies to the current affairs in Florida as well as to the prospect of opera-free airwaves. Who can’t feel indignation over whatever hand is on “the hilt of a dagger” (from the French en digeon) when Americans being denied the right to vote are lost in the shuffle of legal wrangling.
What’s the bottom line here? There’s a reason why lawyers from all over the country have been heading to Florida. There are some things that even alligators won’t do.
