AUGUSTA – The Maine Juvenile Justice Advisory Group, which has the task of providing information, recommendations and project development, has announced grant awards for Maine. Among the grants are:

. Intervention proposals – Community Mediation Services, Augusta, $43,070; Northern York County Family YMCA, York County, $27,074; Northern York County Family YMCA, Kennebec County, $27,074.

. Delinquency prevention proposals – Youthlinks, Rockland, $15,098; SAD 20, Fort Fairfield, $41,750; Peaceful Choices Hancock Community Agency, Milbridge, $17,687; Catholic Charities Maine Big Brothers Big Sisters St. John Valley, Madawaska, Fort Kent, $36,721.

This competitive process was targeted to meet special needs in arenas that affect criminal justice and the state’s juvenile population.
