WATERVILLE – The state has found a buyer for the Maine Criminal Justice Academy in Waterville.

Gregg Perkins, who listed the property on the market, said the deal likely will be closed by late February or early March.

Perkins would not identify the buyer.

He said interest for the site has been high since he listed it this fall.

The academy has served as the training center for Maine law-enforcement officers since the early 1970s. A new training center will be completed early next year.
