CAMDEN – Lauren Whitney scored 16 points and the Camden Hills Windjammers held off a late rally by the Lincoln Academy Eagles for a 43-42 schoolgirl basketball victory Friday night.

Hampden’s Pat Bailey scored two goals. Greg Brown and Dan Perkins also scored for the 1-1 Broncos. Julian Kalein stopped 14 of 19 shots.

At Dover-Foxcroft, the Red Riots took control of the game in the second quarter and held on in their win over the Ponies.

Four Orono players scored in double figures with Nick Neitmann leading the way with 14. Daryl Watson had 12 and Eric Kempen and Derek Sinclair chipped in with 11 points apiece.

Foxcroft Academy’s Kyle Wentworth topped all scorers with 25 points, including six 3-pointers. Danny White added 12 for the Ponies.

Piscataquis’ Tyler Tracy was taken to Mayo Regional Hospital in Dover-Foxcroft after being injured with 25 seconds to play. Officials called the game at that point.

Tracy was treated and released, according to emergency room personnel. Also, teammate Keith Dawson scored eight points in the first five minutes before suffering a broken nose, according to Pirates coach Jamie Russell.

Ben Smith contributed 16 points, and Buddy Leavitt added 11 for PCHS.

Stu Morin topped Penobscot Valley of Howland with 16 points, Scott Bates added 14, and Noah McPike had 10.
