SURRY – A 19-year-old Sedgwick man was found unconscious on the shoulder beside Route 172 Friday morning with no recollection of how he arrived there.

Several residents were gathered around Eddie Silguero, covering him with blankets, when Hancock County Deputy Jason Lepper arrived.

“He didn’t know what had happened, and said his head hurt,” Lepper wrote in his report. “There was nothing to indicate he had been struck by a car, or anyone else was involved.”

An ambulance brought Silguero to Blue Hill Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries. Hospital staff agreed that a car had not struck him.

In fact, there was nothing to indicate foul play of any kind, they said.

Lepper spoke with Silguero upon his arrival at home and learned that the young man had been walking to work along Route 172, when he passed out and struck his head on the ground.

Silguero blamed his blackout on limited food and sleep during the past few days.
