Jeremy Allen leads Penquis past MA Lynx

LINCOLN – Jeremy Allen scored 19 points in the game and Penquis of Milo held Mattanawcook Academy to 11 first-half points en route to a 43-27 schoolboy basketball win on Monday.

At Alfond Arena in Orono, Jake Hedstrom scored five goals and assisted on another to pace the Red Riots.

Pat Skall added two goals while Will Toner contributed a goal and four assists for 2-0 Orono. Mike Merritt, Ian Ferguson, Dustin Sleight, Brian Caggiano and Derek Williams notched assists while Casey Hale made 24 saves on 27 shots in net.

Jeff Paquette scored a goal and assisted on another for the Black Raiders. Nick Buxton and Scott Grenier tallied the other goals while Rob Pickard, Nate Poulin and Evan Smith handed out assists. Chris McCabe made two saves on six shots and Nick Gallagher made 11 stops on 15 shots for Winslow.
