AUGUSTA – The state of Maine, which recently has been recognized as a leader in “e-government” solutions, unveiled two new Web sites Dec. 18.

The press conference held at the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation’s offices at the Gardiner Annex showed the new and improved site for the Office of Licensing and Registration.

This site allows the holders of more than 95 different professional licenses in Maine to renew their licenses online.

In addition, Gov. Angus King introduced the HealthWeb of Maine, which provides direct access to health data and statistics for the entire state.

HealthWeb also features interactive queries, which allow the user to produce customized results for a wide range of information.
