Phil McGeoghan of the University of Maine football team has been honored as one of 40 winners of the 3rd Division I-AA Athletic Directors Association Academic All-Star Team.

The senior receiver from Feeding Hills, Mass., posted a 3.29 grade points average while serving as one of the Black Bears’ top pass receivers.

McGeoghan and 39 other winners were selected by a review committee of Div. I-AA athletics directors from among 88 nominees nationwide. Each had a minimum GPA of 3.20 and was a starter or a key reserve for his team.
