Maine again a leader in voter turnout

WASHINGTON – Once again, Maine has the distinction of being among the nation’s leaders in voter turnout.

More than 67 percent of the state’s voter-age population cast ballots for president on Nov. 7.

That’s well above the national figure, which is less than 54 percent.

Maine’s showing was second only to Minnesota, where nearly 69 percent went to the polls.
