PORTLAND – One of Portland’s oldest hotels is getting a major face lift.

The Eastland Park Hotel is undergoing a $4 million renovation, paid for by the hotel’s new owners, the Magna Hospitality Group.

The renovations include conversion of two stories to a business-oriented area, room renovations and a makeover of the lobby.

The hotel includes the famous Top of the East, an underused bar on the top floor with spectacular views of Mount Washington in one direction and Casco Bay in the other. That bar is expected to reopen Friday.

Officials said they hope to finish the restoration in April and hold a grand reopening in June.
