ORONO – Piscataquis County Cooperative Extension Office and the Central Maine Sheep Breeders Association are sponsoring a program on “Sheep Enterprises Across the U.S.” from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the Witter Center, University Farm, on College Avenue.
Donna Lamb, Extension educator, will present a slide show on sheep enterprises she encountered on her sabbatical leave. States visited include Vermont, New York, California, Washington and Missouri. Enterprises included small flocks that utilized artificial insemination, large flocks (10,000 ewes) that were in lambing camp, wool production, endangered breeds and dairy sheep.
All interested people are invited to attend this free program. Immediately after the slide presentation, the Central Maine Sheep Breeders will hold their regular business meeting. Interested people are invited to attend this also. Please call if you plan to attend.
