Amazing! Astounding! The king of “trash-talking” has muttered his reasons for spending $153,000 so as to earn a paltry nine grand in the Maine Legislature. That’s Tom Sawyer.

He says “… ‘she’ has eight years to get the message out; I have eight weeks.” My question is, what the heck is his message? The “she” is Jane Saxl, our worthy and capable public servant who was bulldozed from office by greed as well as the scourge of the election process, money.

When Sawyer returns from his Florida vacation and assumes his post in Augusta, I will be watching his every move. What stands out in my mind are the pictorial placards he posted about town. It makes me wonder what motives he and those pictured upon them have in mind for common folks.

I am convinced Sawyer misrepresented Saxl’s record on her Social Security tax stance. If he didn’t lie about it, then he didn’t do his homework. Methinks we’ve been bushwhacked (again) by big bucks rather than dispassion and decency.

This should definitely go to the Supreme Court, too. But we know what the score would be there … politics 5, fairness 4. We lose (again). Amazing!
