RANGELEY – Authorities appealed to the public Friday night for any information that might aid a search for a missing turboprop aircraft that had been due into Rangeley earlier in the evening.
Lt. Pat Dorian of the Maine Warden Service said the pilot, heading to Rangeley from Portland, reported being five miles south of Rangeley’s airport when last heard from.
It was uncertain how many people were aboard.
Anyone in the area who heard or saw anything that might aid investigators was urged to contact Maine State Police at 1-800-452-4664.
