Chrisos propels Patriots to OT win vs. Warriors Gaurd scores six in extra session

BANGOR – David Chrisos scored six of his team-high 27 points in overtime Friday afternoon as Bangor Christian rallied for an 84-70 schoolboy basketball victory over Southern Aroostook of Dyer Brook.

Pat McCleary chipped in with 18 points, six rebounds, five steals and two blocked shot. He also hit a basket off an inbounds pass from Ben Sobey with less than 10 seconds left to send the game into overtime. Josh Madden scored 11.

Jordan Shields netted 31 points to lead the Warriors of Dyer Brook. Corey Shields added 13 points and Devon Wilkins contributed 12.

At Alfond Arena in Orono, Will Toner scored an unassisted goal 7:23 into overtime, leading 3-0 Orono to victory over Hampden Academy.

Toner also scored the second goal with an assist from Jake Hedstrom while Pat Skall scored with assists from Mike Merritt and Hedstrom. Mike Merritt added a goal with an assist from Skall while Paul Pangburn stopped 18 of the 21 shots he faced.

Peter Macone scored a goal with the assists going to Adam Standley and Dan Perkins while Greg Taylor scored with an assist from Jeff Mayhew for the 1-2 Broncos. Carl Moser added an unassisted goal while Julian Kaelin faced 32 shots and made 28 saves.

Cheverus 5, John Bapst 0

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, Will Buxton notched two goals and added an assist to lead Cheverus of Portland past John Bapst.

Ryan Brown, Dane Perry, and Nate Zamirappa contributed a goal apiece to back Adam Prescott, who recorded the shutout by making 10 saves for the Stags.

Dominic Dinardo stopped 42 of 47 shots for John Bapst.
