While I respect the opinion of others, Maine Public Radio is doing no different than its shortwave counterpart, the BBC Worldservice from London, which has cut programming in favor of more commerical fare that brings in the listener and the money.
If people what to hear all the classical music, explore the shortwave radio service and see what’s available or use Internet radio. I’m sure that somewhere out there in dot.com land there’s a station for classical music and grand opera.
