CARIBOU – The Sexual Trauma and Recovery Services of Aroostook Mental Health Center will sponsor a Sexual Assault Advocate Training, in cooperation with Cary Medical Center.
The SAAT is a 40-hour, skill-based education program that focuses on training people who wish to make a commitment to volunteer and to provide sexual assault advocacy services for sexual assault victims in Aroostook County.
Sexual Assault Volunteer Advocates provides support, crisis intervention, education and information to victims of sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual abuse, or who are friends, family or partners of victim.
Any person who cares about someone who has been assaulted or abuse is also invited to attend the program.
There will be four consecutive Saturday sessions to be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Jan. 13, 20, 27, and Feb. 3, at Cary Medical Center’s Chan Center, at Caribou.
All sessions are free of charge.
