Santa’s fund aids neighbors in need

How does The Salvation Army reach so many towns across Maine?

Individuals or groups of people living in small towns are the arms and legs of the Salvation Army’s outreach. For example, if the Santa’s Helper Fund or the Bangor Salvation Army unit hears from a family that lives outside the local coverage area, a staff member at the Bangor unit contacts one of the unit’s assistants in or near the family’s town. That person then assists neighbors in need.

Furthermore, donations collected by the Santa’s Helper Fund are routed back to the areas from where they arrived. We hope our donors can find some satisfaction and comfort in knowing that their contributions will help friends and neighbors in their community.

Please join us in recognizing recent contributors whose donations come from the distribution area of the Bangor Daily News and beyond.
