DETROIT – Drifting snow and a buildup of ice were blamed Tuesday morning for an accident on a Route 220 curve in Detroit.

Stephanie Cyr, 38, of Detroit suffered back and abdominal injuries when her 1995 Saab rolled over just before the intersection with Basford Road about 11:20 a.m. According to Somerset County Deputy Pierre Boucher, road conditions were poor at the time of the crash, with wind-whipped snow causing ice to build up.

Detroit firefighters assisted Boucher and the Sebasticook Valley Hospital Ambulance at the scene and Cyr was transported to SVH for evaluation. Boucher said speed was not a factor and no charges will be filed.
