St. Albans man injured in early morning crash

CORINNA – A slippery road surface was blamed for an early morning crash Wednesday that injured a St. Albans man.

Jerry Harmon, 47, was treated at Sebasticook Valley Hospital for injuries he suffered when he lost control of his 1993 Saturn on an ice-coated section of Route 43 and crashed into a utility pole.

According to Maine State Trooper Rodney Charette, Harmon’s car was demolished and the pole was snapped in half. He said the pole was at least 30 years old and had no utility lines attached.

Harmon was taken to SVH by Corinna Ambulance and was admitted for observation, according to emergency room personnel. No charges will be filed, said Charette.
