BANGOR – A Milo man was sentenced Thursday in Penobscot County Superior Court for sexual abuse of a minor, furnishing marijuana to a minor and violation of conditions of release.
Jeffrey Banker, 28, entered guilty pleas to the charges. A count of gross sexual assault was dismissed at the hearing.
Piscataquis County District Attorney R. Christopher Almy recommended that Banker be sentenced to three years in prison with all but nine months suspended on the charge of sexual abuse and on the charge of aggravated furnishing of marijuana, as well as a 90-day consecutive jail sentence for the violation of conditions of release (bail). Each count, a Class C crime, carries a maximum prison sentence of up to five years in prison. The charges involve a 15-year-old girl who was supplied with marijuana and sexually assaulted in Milo in 1999, according to Almy.
Justice Andrew Mead presided over the hearing.
