Camden man charged with OUI after crash

SOUTH THOMASTON – A Camden man was charged with operating under the influence of intoxicants after a two-vehicle crash on Saturday that injured three people.

Michael Crockett, 37, of Camden was taken to Penobscot Bay Medical Center by South Thomaston ambulance after the 4:10 p.m. accident on Route 131, as were Linda Milton, 46, of Burke, Va., and her daughter, Adrienne Milton, 27.

All were treated and released, a hospital spokeswoman said Sunday.

Linda Milton was driving a 1988 BMW when she pulled out from Ledger Road onto Route 131 and into the path of a 1988 Oldsmobile sedan driven by Crockett, which was headed toward Thomaston, according to Knox County Sheriff Sgt. Larry Hesseltine.

Hesseltine said a witness reported that Crockett’s car headlights were not on at the time of the accident.

The officer indicated that Milton may not have seen Crockett’s car because of the lights not being on. The accident is still under investigation, he said, noting that Maine Marine Patrol Officer James Princiotta reached the accident first, and assisted at the scene.

Both vehicles were considered total losses, Hesseltine said

He added there may be further charges pending the investigation.
