Mick, Moores spearhead B.C. Patriots to sixth win

BANGOR – Merideth Moores, Roni Haverlock and Renee Mick each scored four points to spark a 14-8 third-quarter run Thursday night as Bangor Christian posted a 51-38 schoolgirl basketball victory over Central of Corinth at Husson College’s Newman Gym.

Mick paced the winners with 16 points and Moores netted 10. Danielle Miller chipped in with 11 points and seven rebounds.

Katie Ahearn scored 10 points for the Red Devils and Jen Allen netted nine.

At Bangor’s Sawyer Arena, Ryan Danforth’s unassisted goal with 3:29 remaining enabled Cony of Augusta to snap its six-game losing streak. The Rams are 0-6-1.

Derek Wing, Evan Daniels and Dan Tuttle had a goal and an assist for Cony and Casey Tuttle made 26 saves.

Zach Means had a pair of goals for the 1-4-1 Crusaders with Chris Todd contributing a goal and an assist and John Motta scoring the other goal. Kim Meagher had two assists, Taylor Lynn had one and Dominic Dinardo made 37 saves.
