WASHINGTON – With the opening of the 107th Congress, U.S. Sen. Susan Collins said she is looking forward to continuing her work on issues such as expanding educational opportunities, healthcare, and consumer protections. That work includes research into all aspects of issues, attending hearings, listening to the pros and cons, and voting. Since her swearing in, in January 1997, Collins has not missed a single roll call vote. When the 106th Congress ended, Collins had cast 1648 consecutive roll call votes.
“I’m looking forward to the many challenges that lie before us in this Congress, and to exercising my responsibility as a Senator to cast my votes based on my beliefs in what is in the best interests of the people of Maine and the country,” said Collins.
Collins cast 374 votes in the first session of the 106th Congress and 288 in the second session.
