First Radio Parish receives $1,000 grant, names trustees

The directors of the Maine Community Foundation have approved a grant of $1,000 to First Radio Parish Church of America for continuing support of the radio, television, newsprint and Internet ministry. The grant is made from the Rines-Thompson Fund of Maine Community Foundation.

Two Portland men, Robert Parker and John Lane, have been elected trustees to the First Radio Parish Church of America board.

Parker is a certified public accountant who specializes in small-business and individual clients for the preparation of taxes and estate planning. He is a graduate of Husson College. He attends Stevens Avenue Congregational Church.

Lane is a retired engineer of television station WCSH-6 after 28 years of service. He has been in the broadcasting business for 46 years.

After retirement he obtained a bachelor of science degree in history from the University of Southern Maine in 1995. Since, he has taught history part time at Cheverus High School, Portland. He attends St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church.

The First Radio Parish Church of America broadcasts daily devotional messages on radio and television stations in Maine and provides inspirational messages on the Internet.
